Intershop Roadshow
Intershop is one of the success stories of the first internet boom in Germany. Named after the convertible currency based retail chain of the German Democratic Republic (DDR), Intershop created one of the first full-fledged ecommerce softwares. They have recently gone together with Soquero, search engine optimization specialists. They have also pimped their ecommerce suite Enfinity für Web 2.0.
Intershop are currently touring Germany with a roadshow for Enfinity Suite 6 and I had the chance to see them in Frankfurt. The just-over-half-day event offers the usual mix of marketing speech and industry trends, though one might have wished they’d been a bit more generous on the trends side.
Intershop present the new version and business model of Enfinity which offers volume-based payment and a full-services scheme, aimed at SMUs. What I found far more interesting was the SEO part.
Lars Rabe of Soquero is a natural presenter; listening to him usually feels like time well spent. Rabe considers product data the gold of ecommerce platforms and offers his expertise in making this gold mineable. Unfortunately, it remained sufficiently unclear whether Intershop/Soquero offer offsite SEO only or whether they’ve indeed integrated onsite SEO features into the latest Enfinity suite.
Tip of the Day: Use Yahoo! (not Google to check who links to your site. String: linkdomain:www. … - site:www. …
