Sechzig Grad

Probably the next thing after diet-blogs: book-writing-blogs. Sechzig Grad is probably not the only example of book-written-in-blogfor-cum-blogging-about-writing-blog (or, more generally, of self-motivation-by-publication-blogs).

The information architecture of SechzigGrad.de is a bit confusing (where’s the book, where’s the blog, which direction do you read?) and the comment-structure does not really point toward a co-creative writing project, either (there is, however, a vote for the best name for the male protagonist). Looks like the author is not aiming at an experiment in co-creativity but at greatest possible awareness. The site has the full range of 2.0 publicity tools: social bookmarking, push/pull subscription (RSS or email), a Twitter profile, a “Twitter this post” button and active social networking (Karen Wiborg will speak at the next Social Web Breakfast in Frankfurt).

So, even if all this publicity pressure is not sufficient to get the book finished, PR consultant Karen Wiborg will get a nice bit of PR for herself. Well done. Or at least: well conceived. Let’s watch how things work out.
