Blog Comment Ethics Dilemma

Assuming I write a blog where I post the occasional restaurant review (and I do). And assuming there’s the occasional unfavorable review (there is). What if someone comments on such a review, totally disagrees with me, raves about the restaurant and calls me a nitwit. Do I approve said comment? Sure! But …… what if someone comments on such a review and this someone absolutely hated the restaurant and rants about it very graphically. Do I approve  such a comment as well?

I feel I should,  just for balance and because I don’t feel like deleting non-spam comments unless they’re obviously untrue, more obscene than average or offensive (as in racist, homophobic etc). On the other hand, I simply blog my opinion, I don’t think the public needs to be warned of this particular restaurant and I feel that a restaurant review site like qype might be a better place for this commenter’s opinion.

What to do?
